Birthday Girl

Last month, while on my blog hiatus (read more in Friday's post) I celebrated my birthday and had the loveliest time. We left for an early morning hike with our pooch Scout, went for a laid back lunch and then returned home to sip wine on our deck. As for the dress? Sadly, it stayed neatly hung in my closet, but I have every intention to wear it to Hawksworth later this month when Martin & I celebrate our wedding anniversary. Can't wait! Have you been?!

And since we're talking birthdays... I can't help but wonder if I'm loving or dreading getting older?! On the one hand, yes, I'm wiser, more settled, financially stable, but on the other hand, my body's not quite as resilient as it used to be and age is definitely changing how much I can take on. I miss the days when I could sleep for three hours, work twelve and still feel fantastic. Now it's more like sleep for twelve and work for three. Haha, what's happening to me?!!

For those of you wondering? My dress is from Banana Republic, but unfortunately, it's sold out. However if you're looking for a pretty dress of your own, I'd recommend this one from June & Hudson (love the light reflecting quality) or this one is absolutely gorgeous too! Can't wait to pair mine, come fall, with a knee-length cardigan and booties. The perfect look for a city lunch!

PS - You may have noticed the homepage & blog have gone through a major re-vamp. If you have any feedback, or elements you'd love to see?! Be sure to let me know, now that I've recouped from burn out, I honestly can't wait to make this space the best it's ever been. Love you guys!!
