Our tree is up and I can’t believe Xmas is less than 20 days away. I’m sooo excited!! We’ll be with Martin’s parents on the 24th and then hosting my parents on the 25th. This year, I’m having so much fun decorating our home, because yay, we just completed a full over-haul with Pottery Barn (using their complimentary design services) and finally, our home, feels like a home. We replaced our area rug, sofa, added throw pillows and re-did our dining room. I’ve always been a HUGE Pottery Barn fan and having their pieces in our home feels so lovely, warm and cozy. My fave!!
When it comes to decorating our tree? I love picking up a few new ornaments each year. This year, I grabbed this adorable mouse and a few mercury ornamentsΒ too and can’t wait to add them to our tree. I typically go with a red theme and love to choose ornaments with a rustic feel. But honestly, I love all trees! I’d also love to do a flocked tree and choose antiqued ornaments in subdued hues and colours. Swoon! Maybe next year! π
Well friends, hope this post brought you some Xmas cheer and you’re blaring those Christmas tunes in your home. We sure are!! Also can’t wait to show you more of our completed living & dining room in the new year. But in the meantime, if you’re curious to see more of our home?Β I have a dedicated home category (it lives in the top nav bar) and I’m excited to add to it in the coming months. With that said, happiest Thursday everyone, and boy-oh-boy, it sure feels good to be back. My heart is so much lighter these days and I can’t wait to start family planning again!! xo
Happy December, V! Your home is looking so lovely and full of holiday spirit. As usual, we haven’t done a thing to decorate – after meeting in retail jobs and spending so many months of each year bombarded by holidays, we’ve always been able to easily agree that our home should be a holiday-free sanctuary and for us, it’s just the best. But I totally appreciate seeing other people’s decor and yours fits in so perfectly with your redone space. Looking forward to seeing it in person, hopefully next year…! In the meantime, can’t wait for our Skype date next week π

Lucky girl. I too am a huge pottery barn fan and would love to have my home re-done by them. Looks beautiful! x
I’m so glad to read that your heart is lighter! Family planning can be pretty rough sometimes (we tried for two years and I had two miscarriages – one of them was on December 24 which pretty much tanked Christmas that year) but being hopeful always makes it easier. And your Christmas decor is just lovely; I really love that plaid pillow.

Courtney, thank you! And yes, as I’ve learned trying for a family is no easy feat. Since sharing my miscarriage news with others… I’ve heard so many heartbreaking stories. Sorry to hear you’ve been there too and can’t imagine having one on the 24th. Would absolutely ruin Xmas for anyone!! As for the plaid pillow?! Darling right? They still have them at Pottery Barn this year and I’m thinking I need to get one more for our master bedroom. So darn cute!! xo

Aw Chelsea thank you!!! We had so much fun decorating this year with all the new home touches, and of course, the fur balls make it so much fun too! Hope you’re having a great week, girl! xo
Oh what a beautiful room and tree! We always add little ornaments to our tree each year. Which is good as some inevitably break or get lost and we end up with less each time we unbox the tree, haha! π
Hope you are having a good week so far and all your Christmas preparation is going well! I’m so behind with wrapping presents – need to do more this weekend!
