UGH, what a week, friends!! My Bloglovin’ feed has been having some major issues, and my posts have been taking 30+ hours to display, or not showing up at all. Please say a little prayer for me. I have several big brand collaborations coming up and as you can imagine I’m ready to melt down. Anyway, onto better news. Yay!! Excited to finally share “official” photos of my new lob with blonde balayage. This is probably the biggest hair change I’ve made in awhile and I absolutely love it. I was beyond overdue for a refresh, and in-fact, I’ll be back in the salon for a full head of platinum highlights come May. I’m already counting down!! But for my first visit, my stylist wanted to do an overall lightening so she chose to do a hand painted balayage + we lobbed it. Thank goodness, because my hair was horribly damaged!
Details on my colour: We used 40 volume bleach on the top part of my hair, 30 on the mid, and 25 underneath. Some area’s were foiled and some were left out to breathe. My stylist also added Olaplex to help strengthen my hair while it was being bleached (my hair is in amazing shape because of it) and then we toned it.
How I’m caring for my new colour: This is probably my top asked question, and honestly, I’m not that fancy. I’m using Silver Shine Shampoo from Milk Shake and Renewing Morocco Argan Oil Conditioner. Having said that though, I’d love to find a high quality heat protector and pop into the salon for in-between hair treatments. If you have any suggestions?! Let me know!!
How I’m styling my new hair: I let my hair air dry and then I straighten it. For me, that’s the secret to really healthy & shiny hair. My ceramic straightener does a great job sealing my hair cuticle & I love the effect. I then curl the top 2/3 of my hair with my curling wand, wrap 2-3 times for a looser wave, and leave my ends straight. The perfect beachy wave! Once my hair has set (I usually wait 20 minutes) I run my hands through my hair and spray dry shampoo on the roots for volume. Voila all done!
Extra tip: When it comes to maintaining my curls until my next wash? I always sleep with my hair in a top knot and find that helps a lot. And as always, if you have any tips of your own?! Let me know in the comments section – I’d love to hear from you!! xo
