As promised, I’m back and sharing details on my summer capsule. Many of you asked if I’d be continuing on… and the answer is yes. However, this time around I plan on taking a very laid-back approach. I’ll be pulling most of my spring capsule pieces into summer, and adding a few new pieces (well newish, they’re summer items from last year), things like: shorts, patterned skirts, dresses and sandals. I also plan on doing a little shopping during my capsule too but limiting my budget to $50 per month, and it’s my goal to thrift more.
While I definitely thrived with a strict approach for my spring capsule (I re-capped what I learned here “What I Learned From My Capsule Wardrobe Challenge“), this time around I’d like to loosen the reins and allow myself the freedom to add on to the pieces that work and continue to find new ways to re-wear my go-to gems. And more than anything, this summer and beyond, I want Girl & Closet (and my own closet) to be focused on relatable style, plenty of remixing and finding budget friendly options to stay stylish and current. Can not wait! I have so much fun content planned for the blog + Martin will be helping me with G&C on a full-time basis for July & August… so that’s going to be amazing!!
What I’m Keeping From My Spring Capsule:
I’m taking 14 of my 16 pieces from my spring capsule wardrobe into summer, and can’t wait to give them a little summertime revamp. A straw fedora or an adorable red neck scarf and boho jewelry will make all the difference. And while I was hesitant to take my motto jacket into summer, I’m glad I did since our nights can be cool on the west coast (especially later in the season) and I can’t wait to rock my motto with a cute dress & booties. My fave go-to on cooler days!
What I’m Adding To My Summer Capsule:
I added an additional 9 pieces to my summer capsule (like I said, they’re all from last year), bringing my total number to 24. FYI, bags/purses are not included. I worked in a little more pattern, colour, and a girly aesthetic which I’m excited to explore over the next couple of months. And then, bam, fall. I’m already brainstorming a little, lol don’t hate me, it’s my fave season for fashion!
Questions, comments?! Let me know… I’d love to hear your thoughts on my summer capsule. And if you’re doing one too, leave a link so I can check it out!! xo
