This vintage midi skirt has been with me from the beginning of my blogging days and it’s proof that a good classic is something you can re-wear, again & again, rather than choosing fast + disposable fashion. Lately, I’ve been thinking and noticing how we’ve become (or at least I have) quick to dispose of things I once loved and replace them with something new – simply because they’re “new” and I’m in search of that “ever fading” thrill and excitement. It’s a pattern I participate in far too often and I’m trying to get better at breaking the cycle and slow how I consume / make choices.
My capsule, of course, has been amazing at helping me quench the thirst and I’m learning to reach in my closet rather than running to the mall. So far, I’ve been amazed at how many outfits I’ve been able to create out of my “16 piece wardrobe” and I can’t wait to share all the outfits I have with you. In a way, styling & restyling is so much more satisfying than just constantly buying something new. For one, my savings account is finally growing at alarming speed, and I feel like I can practice better clothing discernment + reach for investment pieces here & there. It’s a good feeling!
Other than that, I can’t wait to style my new Madewell jumpsuit this weekend. Martin & I have been so good about shooting all my outfits. The warmer, brighter days are definitely helping that. I’m also eyeing this dress, this ruffle tee in sheer pink and these overalls for my summer capsule. Have a great end of week, everyone! xo
